My middle name is SELMA. Anyone with that surname?

I did some research and found out that Selma is a city in Alabama but other than that, I don't know anything about my grandfather. I never met him and I really wonder where the surname "Selma" came from. Who are the Selma's? My mom doesn't know much about my grandfather as well.
